Ching-Jung Chen
Professor Ching-Jung Chen, who is over 80 years old, is a very talented Taiwanese contemporary artist with over 50 years of working experience in the art field. Showing his great passion and persistence to art, Chen combines his art with life experience intimately.

In 1934, Chen was born in Changhua. By 1952, he studied Fine Art at National Taiwan Normal University, and followed Chang Yi-Hsiung to study sketching. Between 1960-1967, Chen went to Japan for further studying, where he graduated from Musashino University, and Fresco Graduation School of University of Tokyo. He has served as Director of Fine Arts Department at National Academy of Arts, professor at National Taiwan Normal University teaching Graduation School of Art Study. Currently, Chen is the emeritus professor of National Taiwan Normal University.

Chen has won the *Golden Goblet Award* from Chinese Art Association, *Wu San-Lien Award*, *Bronze Medal*, *Silver Medal of Salon des Artistes Francais*, and *Wen-Xin Award* from Taiwan Council for Culture Affairs. Chen was also honored with *Taipei Honorary Citizen*, and *Eminent Alumnus of National Taiwan Normal University*.

Professor Chen Jing-Jung’s oeuvre shows a sense of tranquility and loneliness. His exquisite and strong style blends well with classical tone. Chen’s art goes beyond images and symbols, Realism and Surrealism, and that has made his work a unique style. Through his works, people comprehend Chen’s sympathy for the society and the compassion he shows on sufferings in life.
