Eliza Brown
Eliza Brown
Eliza is a British-born painter, graduating in the 1990s from art school in Manchester. A Seattleite since 2016, Eliza loves hiking the Pacific Northwest, painting its dramatic coastline and breathtaking landscapes. Her vibrant still-life paintings continue to feature in these landscapes, defining her simple strong style. Her works hang in collections in Europe and around the US.
Eliza comments “I paint in acrylics and oils, using brushstrokes and collage to build a depth of texture. Words or musical notes on ripped paper appear occasionally through the brushstrokes of paint, drawing the eye of the viewer. My passion for the shapes and composition of naïve still-life paintings is crucial in developing a sense of solidity in my work and defining my simple strong style.
I use a color palette to reflect my passion for being outdoors, experiencing the beauty of nature. Through my paintings, I want to highlight our connection with the earth that we borrow for a short time and promote respect for the environment in which we live. My West Coast wanderings inspire my painting explorations which, in turn, drives my next adventure.”
