Chih-Yuan Yang
Chih-Yuan Yang graduated from the ink painting group of the master's class of the Department of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University. He started to get into the art of seal cutting when he was studying in the calligraphy and painting department of the National Taiwan University of Arts. Although he graduated with a master's degree in ink painting, he did not stop thinking and improving on seal cutting during the period, trying to make breakthroughs. Taiwan's seal cutting art has long been an established standard and bottleneck. After he stopped participating in seal cutting-related competitions in 2015, he has been committed to breaking the restrictions on the selection of printing materials and redefining the appearance of seal cutting or seals in recent years, trying to activate the value of seal cutting or seals to himself or the times from a contemporary perspective. His works I often think based on my personal life experience and life value, from selecting and creating sentences to choosing the creative form to match the meaning of the sentence and even the overall combination of printing materials, and learn from the past to create something new, transforming it into a profound and refreshing look.
