Deng Zuolie
Deng Zuolie, originally from Yunfu, Guangdong, was born on January 18, 1962, in Zhanjiang, Guangdong. He graduated from Guangdong University of Law and Political Science. Deng is a director of the China Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Promotion Association, a member of the Overseas Committee of the Guangdong Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, an advisor to the Guangzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, a director of the Guangzhou Overseas Exchange Association, the chairman of the Washington State Chinese Art Association in the U.S., a guest professor at the Art College of Tianjin Business University, and an overseas representative of the 12th Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress.
Deng has held numerous solo exhibitions of his calligraphy, paintings, and seal carving at various prestigious institutions, including the Seattle Asian Art Museum, the Burke Museum of the University of Washington, the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle, the Museum of Lewis-Clark State College in Idaho, Edmonds City Art Museum, Tacoma Community College Art Gallery, Evergreen State College in Washington, Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles Art Gallery, Guangzhou Museum of Art, Yangzhou Shi Kefa Memorial Hall, Tianjin Tianmei Times Art Center, Zhanjiang Museum in Guangdong, Shunde Qinghui Garden Museum in Guangdong, Nanhai Museum in Guangdong, the Seattle Space Needle, the Phoenix Center Gallery, the New Century Hotel in Macau, and the Marriott Gallery in Macau.
He has published eleven volumes of collections combining calligraphy, poetry, painting, and seal carving, including The Collection of Deng Zuolie’s Calligraphy and Painting and The Journey of the Heart: Selected Works of Deng Zuolie’s Calligraphy, Painting, and Seal Carving.
