Pottery is more to me than simply creating an object intended to serve a purpose, but rather an imprint left behind signifying a moment in time a person was struck by creativity. The process of making is just as important to me, if not more so, than the outcome itself. Making one-of-a-kind pieces is my jam because I love the idea of creating work that only one person will ever have. It feels more personal and intimate. Throughout my work you will see bright colors, polka dots, tiny sculpted details and experimentation with texture. I love playing with partially glazed and unglazed areas in my work to create an interesting tactile experience. I strive to create work that is relatable, cute and playful. I specifically create cat art because I am a die hard cat lover and it’s something that connects me to so many other people. I have a lot of fun coming up with names for them and imagining their personalities. It makes me feel like a kid again. Life is too serious, so I’ll just make cute, fun cats to even things out.
