Born in Taipei, Taiwan, primarily working with photography, video, painting, mixed media, and body performance as main forms of artistic expression. Art creation is a concrete practice toward a spiritual journey, exploring the relationship between one's choices, production, and the world: How does the world shape the individual? How does the individual construct the world? Between the contradictions and tensions of dualities—life and death, existence and nothingness, reality and fiction—I attempt to find the meaning and subjectivity of human existence within these ambiguous and elusive interstices.
I focus on the symbols and meanings generated through the collage, hybridization, and reconstruction of images and signs, creating perceptible "other worlds" through art. "Other" contains multiple semantic meanings and imaginative spaces—referring to the possibilities of the strange, special, and extraordinary, relating to displacement and difference from mainstream order. Temporally, "other time" can point to both the past and project into the future, breaking through the framework of linear time. "World," as a totality encompassing time and space, life and matter, is an indefinable enormity. Art becomes my way of approaching the world—through constructing my own "other world," in the impermanent and transient life, resisting death and oblivion, attempting to allow traces of the soul to continue and remain beyond "this moment."
