Shiu-ping Liao
Teacher Liao Xiuping was born in Taipei in 1936. In 1959 he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Taiwan Normal University. From 1962 to 1968, he studied at the National Tokyo University of Education and the French National Academy of Fine Arts in France. He is currently a lecturer at the National Taiwan Normal University.

His childhood memories of temple rituals and the feelings of Taiwanese folklore have not only become the source of artistic creation, but also lead the international art scene in a modern artistic language. The creation of oriental aesthetics and the symbolic series of Taiwanese characteristics are his personal codes, successfully conveying Taiwanese cultural characteristics with a unique vocabulary.

His works have been collected by the British Empire Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, the Shanghai Art Museum of China, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, and the National Taiwan Museum of Art.
