Shizuo Harada
Shizuo Harada, a Japanese first-class architect, established the Environmental Systems Research Institute Co., Ltd. in 1979. He has loved animals since he was a child, and dreamed of going to Kyoto University to study Primate Research and Cultural Anthropology. Eventually, he entered the Faculty of Architecture, Waseda University. Since 1989, he has been researching "Sky City" and "ABC Advanced Building Complex", and served as the chief planner of the 2005 Japan International Exposition (Aichi World Expo). The architectural concept emphasizes the use of natural resources, harmonious coexistence with nature, the use of land resources, the centralized layout of urban functions, and the concept of low-carbon environmental protection. In 2017, he held solo exhibitions in Japan and Taipei with the theme of "Symbiosis of All Things", hoping to convey the concept of "protecting the earth's environment and symbiosis and co-prosperity of all things" in a creative way, arousing everyone's awareness of the conservation and restoration of endangered animals, and creating a An earth that can live with animals. During the solo exhibition held in Taipei in 2018 and 2021, part of the auction proceeds of the paintings will be donated to the Taipei Zoo for conservation.
