Colorful and fanciful Art Escapades opens at Yuan Ru Art Center on September 14
by Sarah Guthrie
Twelve artists from the Women Painters of Washington were selected by Julie Hsieh, Yuan Ru Art Center founder and director, to exhibit in “Art Escapades” from September 14 to October 20, 2024. The artists will present work ranging in style from realistic paintings inspired by international scenes to whimsical scenes of animals up to shenanigans to awe-inspiring landscapes to vibrant abstracts.
Hsieh selected the artists from over 200 members of the Women Painters of Washington. “I chose artists whose work transcends boundaries–a key part of the mission of the Yuan Ru Art Center. They take scenes we know–from landscapes to abstracts–and push them beyond what we expect. Through their work, we get to see a new way to experience our world.”
Exhibit organizer and Women Painters of Washington member, Carol Ross said, “We are so honored to exhibit at the Yuan Ru Art Center. Julie is an outstanding arts leader who has created a beautiful space to feature local artists. Her exhibit openings are always fun, inspiring, community-oriented gatherings. We are grateful to be able to showcase these twelve artists from the Women Painters of Washington.”
“Art Escapades” opens September 14, 2024, with a special Meet the Artists Reception Sunday, September 15, from 2-4 pm. Yuan Ru Art Center is open 12-4 pm Saturday-Sunday and weekdays by appointment
